Emergence Collective generate a hypnotic kaleidoscope of sound, completely unique to every performance. Drawing on their backgrounds in folk, jazz, early, and contemporary classical music, Robert Bentall (nyckelharpa), Zebedee Budworth (hammer dulcimer), Juliana Day (recorders/whistles), and Tim Knowles (acoustic guitar) build impromptu minimalist structures that gradually morph through an evolving musical dialogue. Since 2022 Emergence Collective has regularly performed with an expanded, variable line-up of Sheffield-based improvisors.
